Tattoo Flair is written by me, Vanessa. Here is how the site works, how I choose what to show you, and how the site pays for itself.
Idea galleries and Real Ink
Most of our idea posts are galleries of design ideas and concepts. They are there to help you picture a motif, a style or a placement before you talk to an artist. They are not photos of finished, healed tattoos, and your artist will always draw your piece for your body.
Our Real Ink features are different: they show real tattoos by working artists. Every photo is labelled “Real tattoo”, credited to the artist by name and linked to their own site or profile. Featured artists never pay to be included.
How I put a guide together
- I start with the questions readers send me and the ideas they save most on Pinterest.
- I add practical notes next to the ideas: placement, sizing, how fine lines settle as they heal, and what to ask your artist.
- Health and aftercare notes are general information. Your artist knows your skin best, so follow their aftercare advice, and see a doctor if a tattoo looks infected.
Ads and affiliate links
Tattoo Flair is free to read because it shows ads, served by Mediavine. Some links, for example to places to stay when you travel for an appointment, may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you book or buy, at no extra cost to you. Ads and commissions never decide which ideas or artists we feature.
Credits, corrections and takedowns
If you spot a mistake, or you are an artist and see your work without the right credit, email me at contact@tattooflair.com and I will fix it or take it down as quickly as I can.
